About the Author

Marilyn Saltzman is the proud grandmother of Selam, adopted from Ethiopia, and Dian, adopted from China, who entertain her and enrich her life every day. Her latest book, "My Love Is Blasting in Your Heart: A Grandmother's Journey," is about how she is learning Mussar, Jewish ethics, with and from them.

Marilyn has studied Mussar for more than a decade. She has served as a Mussar facilitator at Congregation Beth Evergreen, Evergreen, Colorado, after receiving training at the Institute for Jewish Spirituality. She was president of the Board of Directors and chair of the Adult Education Committee at Beth Evergreen.

Marilyn worked as a journalist, serving as editor of The Golden Daily Transcript and correspondent for The Denver Post. She was public relations manager for Jefferson County Public Schools, Colorado, for 20 years and has been a public relations consultant for school districts and education associations across the nation. She taught public relations courses to graduate students at Colorado State University. Marilyn received a BA from Brooklyn College and MBA from the University of Colorado, Denver, graduating with honors from both universities.
